The prayers are written by Charlotte Adjepong, and are focussed on Jesus the Evangelist, linked to the #DoYouKnowHimTelford mission.
June 14 – ‘Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done’ (Psalm 105:1 NIV).
Father, our main mission in life is to share the love of Christ with those who have yet to receive and accept Jesus as their personal saviour. I pray for boldness as we cannot evangelise in our own strength, but can do so with Your Spirit’s help so Jesus is truly made known as He should be.
As we step out and make ourselves available – You will increase our faith and confidence as we share and proclaim Your living word. I pray as the seeds of the Good News about Jesus, of Your word, are being scattered and planted by Telford Elim, in person and online, and by each one of us – that they would land on good soil and would bear much fruit for Your Kingdom to grow, and many souls to be saved. In Jesus’ name. Amen
June 15 – Lord Jesus, there are many, many distractions in the world – making and spending money, social media, digital devices or just the busyness of life. People don’t realize that You are there wanting them to hear You, repent and accept You so that they can have life eternal with you, Jesus.
It says in 1 John 5:12-13, ‘Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.’
I ask that You will equip us to focus on that which is true and important and thus to overcome the distractions. Holy Spirit, for those outside of Christ that we think of today – we pray that You will get their attention and draw them near to the Good News of the Gospel so that they can be saved, know Your purpose for their lives, and live life in the abundance and fullness You can bring them into. In Jesus’ name. Amen
June 16 – ‘“My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to Me, because My name will be great among the nations,’’ says the Lord Almighty’ (Malachi 1:11, NIV).
Lord Jesus, lead us to every place You want us to go to as an individual and as a church, in person and online, from where the sun rises to where it sets. Use us to speak and show the good news by using our lives to reflect Your joyful Church and Kingdom.
Inspire and set us on fire by Your Spirit so we will seek to bring others along on the journey with us in Telford Elim, doing the work of evangelists.
When You draw others to Yourself in and through Telford Elim, equip us to train and inspire them to do the same work following Your example, Jesus, who first sent out Your 12 disciples to do so, and then 72 disciples, and then 120 disciples on the Day of Pentecost. You sent them out to partner with Your Holy Spirit to do Your work; and so, today, may we be sent and see many saved and many people’s lives changed as they repent and believe in You, and then begin to transformed to be like You.
Lord, may we be able to bring many to You, for You can meet every need through Your riches in glory, and You will often use us, Your people, to do so. Amen
June 17 – ‘Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘’The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into His harvest field’’’ (Matthew 9:37-38, NIV)
Lord Jesus, in this world there are lots of hungry people who need to hear and be touched by Your word; stir up Your people to go and work with You to reap the harvest that Your word says is already there. If we will go out we will reach the people whose hearts are softened and ears are open to receive Your Gospel, love, light, truth, and saving grace.
Thank You, that You have enabled us to share in Your mission to the world and bring people in to build Your kingdom. Holy Spirit, move in power, move and empower others to join us in the work of evangelism, and to pray to discern and learn how they can be part of Your great work and mission of winning the world for You. To the honour and glory of Your great name, Lord Jesus. Amen
June 18 – Lord Jesus, today I pray for our youth and young adults. Thank You for each one of them – I ask that You will continue to draw close to them as they go into a deeper relationship with You.
I ask that You continue to raise them up to have a desire to share the Gospel with those who are lost – whether it is their friends from school, college, uni, apprenticeship or work colleagues.
Develop our youth and young adults with a heart for evangelism and the opportunity to share the good news of the Gospel. I pray for their protection as they step out in faith, in boldness and in confidence, and also for wonderful answers to prayer and much fruit which will encourage, excite and inspire to do more. Bless Pastor’s Samuel and Alisha as they lead our work in Telford Elim and out into the community and schools. Amen
June 19 – ‘And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free’ (John 8:32, NIV).
Lord Jesus, we know and believe that You are true, and Your word is truth – it is You and Your truth that sets people free.
I pray that You will help those who hear Your Gospel today to realise this truth. And draw them to start a relationship with You. Through the power and purity of Your truth, I pray that You will heal, restore and nourish. I pray that You will break the chains that bind them; that You will help them to overcome the distractions that come their way.
I pray that they will stand strong, their eyes fixed firmly on to You, Jesus, knowing and believing that You are always there when we repent, believe and commit our hearts and lives into Your hands. Holy Spirit, guide them through to a life which will be eternal and fulfilling, and firmly rooted in Christ. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen
June 20 – Would like to finish these seven days of prayer with Psalm 103, a Psalm of David.
‘Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will He harbour His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children – with those who keep His covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all. Praise the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His word.
Praise the Lord, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will. Praise the Lord, all His work, everywhere in His dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.
Lord Jesus, as a church, and as an individual, we seek to glorify You. Save, heal, deliver and make many whole in Yourself – through Telford Elim, in person and online. Amen
